Barça to Host Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
