Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Unavailable
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
