Trump's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf Debut
The rising star maintains substantial social media audience
Kai Trump will have multiple high-profile cheerleaders when she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses multiple international courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
She mentioned that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He essentially told me to go out there and relax," she added.
"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
However she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete in the world," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior human being. He suggested me to compete, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in the sport at the Annika, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that her participation helps introduce the sport to new audiences, especially reaching youth audiences.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and recently launched a personal apparel and wellness company.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
